Being taken by some as a return to some of the silliness of old-school Imperial Guard models. So I’d call it a net positive, just not as big of one as I was hoping. Slotting in between the stalwart Leman Russ Battle Tank and the mighty Baneblade heavy tank, it’s sure to be a very popular choice for Astra Militarum armoured forces, combining toughness, manoeuvrability, and big-ass guns. I’d say we probably do less damage but now are more mobile and the damage we do do is more consistent mostly flat 3 rather than D6.
There are turret options for the Leman Russ Battle Tank, Demolisher, Executioner, Vanquisher, Eradicator, Punisher, and Exterminator variants included in one set for the first. Battle cannon and executioner are great, BUT if executioner has the same number of shots it’s just gonna be better as I’m sure there will be reroll 1s and 46 inch threat range is more than enough. Leman Russ Battle Tank Equally as versatile, the Leman Russ is a mainstay of Imperial Guard regiments and can be outfitted to tackle almost any enemy you might encounter. The 1 less point of AP than a hammerhead really sucks though as it allows 2+ save units with AoC to save on 5s.

Vanquishers have a niche, they are useable now. This rugged and dependable tank has been used to equip the Guard for many centuries, and while fundamental changes in construction and appearance have occurred, its capabilities have changed very little. Demolisher s are dead unless there is a strat to make them fire max shots for 1 CP d 6 shots is waaay too swingy The Leman Russ is the main Battle Tank of the Imperial Guard.
Punishers are now terrible while Novas and exterminators are still super terrible.
